How much does a groundwater survey for a borehole cost?
A groundwater survey is usually priced per site, by the area to cover, access and the daily water demand; WaterLocation quotes after the first call and charges its discovery fee only after a pumping test confirms the water. The bigger cost is a dry borehole: drillers are paid by the metre whether water comes up or not.
What drives the price
- Size of the area to survey and how many candidate points are needed.
- Required daily volume, in m³.
- Site access and travel for a 2–3 day field visit.
Compare it with a dry hole
Multiply the depth of a failed borehole by your driller's price per metre: that is the money a survey protects. The calculator on the home page does this for all your dry holes at once.
Questions
Is there a fee if no water is found?
No discovery fee is due if a borehole drilled at our point and depth doesn't deliver water.
How do I get a quote?
Send the site location, water use and daily demand through the survey form.
